Free eye care for kids at Give Kids Sight Day this Saturday, November 17th!
Children 17 and under are invited to this FREE annual event for FREE eye care and eyeglasses. Sight Day is geared towards kids who did not have or did not pass an eye screening this year. Registration takes place from 8:30am to 1:00pm at Jefferson Alumni Hall at 10th and Locust Streets and features eye screening, a health fair, free books, snacks and more!
No health insurance? No problem! All children are welcome. Walk-ins only, no appointment is needed!
Public transportation is your best option to Sight Day because the Philadelphia Half Marathon is the same morning. Using the Market Frankford Line or SEPTA Regional Rail, exit at 11th or 8th Street; using PATCO, exit at 9th/10th Street and it’s just a few short blocks to Sight Day. If you decide to drive, all 676 and I95 exits will be open (except the I95 southbound exit at Delaware Ave), and you can park north of Filbert Street. Between 6:45 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. no cars or buses will be allowed from Filbert Street to South Street and between 6th and Broad Street, but pedestrians can walk anywhere in this area.
Volunteers are also needed to make this event a big success! Each year, we recruit nearly 400 volunteers to assist families register and help them move between patient care areas. We’d love to see you there! Sign up at www.pccy.org/sightday.
