About Ms. Desir
Dominique Desir has been a School Counselor in Chester Upland School District since 2016. Before her work as a counselor, she worked as a classroom assistant and a World Language teacher/intern for the School District of Philadelphia. There she found that while she enjoyed teaching children, her true passion was in counseling. This experience led her to pursue her master’s degree in School and Mental Health Counseling. Dominique is a certified PreK-12 school counselor and is working towards earning her license as a licensed professional counselor (LPC) and national certification in counseling (NCC). Dominique says that the most rewarding part of her job is building positive relationships with her students, guiding them, and providing the tools that they need to achieve their goals, and seeing them evolve and develop.
