David Pines, M.Ed.

My experience includes classroom teaching, school administration, leadership development, partnership building, training and workshop development, technical assistance, as well as program design and implementation. I taught in both elementary and middle schools as well as University.  After teaching, I worked in Washington directing activities focusing on national and international juvenile violence and substance abuse prevention, the environment, media literacy, and youth accountability.

On behalf of the US government, I created and facilitated trainings and workshops including violence prevention training for the Northern Cheyenne reservation in Lame Deer, MT.  I led a team which provided long-term technical assistance on youth issues for communities as diverse as Los Angeles, Washington, DC, Philadelphia, Houston and the Inupiaq leaders of the North Slope Borough in Point Barrow, AK.  I designed and led training workshops for the GLOBE program (Executive Office of the White House) and taught college courses for law enforcement officers, health officials, and other professionals. I have been an advisor on youth issues to both the United Nations, The World Bank, and the InterAmerican Development Bank.

In 2000, my family left Washington for the Philadelphia area, where I joined an international management consulting company. For nearly 20 years, I led business courses and programs, as well as executive coaching for leaders in corporations worldwide. I am the Executive Director of The Possibility Fund- a local non profit working in Chester. I retired from business in 2019 with a commitment to renew my teaching certifications and teach middle school in Chester.

My two great passions (other than making a difference with people) are biking and soccer (as a player, coach and fan).  I am thrilled that soccer has returned to CUSD.
