About Us

Stetser Elementary serves grades PreK - 6.

In a beautiful, newly refurbished building, Stetser Elementary's highly qualified teaching staff is dedicated to the support of learning and social and emotional growth for young students. Stetser has vibrant partnerships with Widener University, other community organizations, and is a member of the National Soccer for Success program to support nutrition and fitness for students, as well as the Philabundance program for families, and Greener Partners for garden and nutrition support.

Stetser is an Eco-school with a focus on environmental education, complete with active gardens on campus. We offer opportunities for children to be involved in their community and participate in a number of area competitions.  Stetser is in a global partnership with a school in Haiti to ensure that students are well-rounded citizens of the world.

The general curriculum is based on PA Common Core Standards supported by the following programs: American Reading Company, Go Math, and Pearson Science and Social Studies. In addition, students receive extra help using Reading Mastery, Corrective Reading, and other interventions such as Imagine Learning and Accelerated Reader. Extracurricular programs include: “Sing to Learn” (K-2), Darlington Arts Violin, Musicopia (Bucket Drumming and Ballroom Dancing), Soccer for Success, After School Tutoring, and After School club activities (Reading Olympics, Math 24, STEM Design Challenge, etc.).
