About Us

Toby Farms serves students in grades 6 - 8.

Toby Farms is a middle school in the Chester Upland School District. We are proud to be the only middle school in our district because we have the opportunity to blend all of our students from all of our elementary schools into one family! 


The Toby Farms School is focused on providing middle years children with a caring, respectful nurturing environment. The modern facility features a school-within-a-school model. It is inclusive of our Camelot, Enlightenment Academy which services grades K-6.


Toby Farms bridges students to be career- and college-ready as they prepare for high school, ensuring a strong start for continuing education and career success.


The General curriculum at Toby Farms is supported by the following textbooks: Wonders Reading Curriculum, Collections, Envison and Go Math, Science, Social Studies, Graphic Arts, Art, Physical Education and Music. In addition, students receive extra help during a specially designed intervention period, and computer assisted programs such Language for Learning in our ELL and Special Education Programs,  Extracurricular programs include: Instrumental Music/Band Program, Football, Basketball, Soccer, Cheerleading, Dance, Mentoring, Track, Newspaper Club, Choir and Chess club.

The staff of Toby Farms Intermediate School will work to ensure that all students achieve at high academic levels by using standards based, innovative approaches to teaching.  We will deliver the curriculum with enthusiasm and meet the needs of all students by providing interventions based on individual student data obtained from formative and summative assessments.


The staff of Toby Farms Intermediate School will work to engage our parents so that they actively adhere to our policies, participate in school activities, and enthusiastically support all school initiatives.


With the support of all stakeholders, our vision of high achievement for all students will be achieved and sustained!

School Hours

The school day is from 8:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Students will line up in the yard by room number or as assigned and be escorted to their classrooms by their teachers. Students should NOT arrive before 8:30 a.m. unless they are having breakfast. Breakfast is served 8:15 am until 8:40 am. Students should not remain on the school grounds later than 4:00 p.m. unless they are participating in a supervised school activity.


SCHOOL DOORS WILL NOT OPEN UNTIL 8:45 a.m. EACH SCHOOL DAY unless we are operating on a half-day bell schedule or due to inclement weather. Supervision WILL NOT be provided for students who arrive before 8:30 a.m. or remain later than 4:00 p.m. These procedures are designed for the safety and well-being of the student.


Daily School Schedule

8:40 am Early Bell – Students line up behind their classroom numbers and designated areas in the schoolyard.    
8:45 am Morning Admission Bell -Teachers meet classes in the schoolyard and escort them to their classrooms through assigned entrances.  All students will line up in the schoolyard unless there is inclement weather. If this occurs, students in grade 8th will go into the auditorium/cafeteria and students in grades 6th/7th will go to the gymnasium in the “C-Wing”.
10:30 am – 11:00 am Enlightenment Academy
11:15 am – 11:45 am First Lunch 7th Grade
12:00 pm – 12:30 pm Second Lunch 6th Grade
12:45 pm – 1:15 pm Third Lunch 8th Grade
3:45 pm All students exit the building according to bus arrival or their last teacher’s dismissal directives. Students going to After-School Programs will meet the leaders at a designated location. Also, any student attending an after-school club or detention will meet the teacher at designated room.


**Students may NOT ever go to a teacher’s classroom before, during or after school unless that teacher IS IN THE ROOM and has made previous arrangements with the student.
