Welcome!

Prior to being hired in 2018 to be the 7th-grade writing teacher at Toby Farms, I spent a decade as a writer and editor. My passion for writing began in childhood and never waned. I still actively write poetry, short stories, flash fiction, and longer works. I'm as equally enthusiastic about writing as I am about teaching, and my enthusiasm grows tenfold as I bear witness to students growing into their writing talent with great heart and imagination.

In my classroom, we learn that writing is an essential lifelong skill used daily and an indispensable tool for processing thoughts and emotions in the journey towards healing.
