STEM Engineering Students attend DCCC STEM Open House

On Wednesday, April 24th, STEM Engineering students attended Delaware County Community College's STEM open house. The students heard a presentation on Agricultural trends from Dr. Vivan Green. Students then were able to participate in a question-and-answer session with the panel, concerning community college degrees and their ability to jump start participation in STEM careers. After the Q&A, students were able to review the dozens of exhibits from 4-year universities for continuing education beyond community college and employers who seek to hire students with the DCCC degree. This is especially important to our Engineering program because DCCC is now matriculating our program from the previous ability for our students to test out of up to a full year of the Electro-Mechanical Engineering program. We were informed that DCCC is now going to certify our CTE Engineering program where as starting next year, our seniors will not only receive their diploma from the school district, but also a certificate from DCCC in Electro-Mechanical Engineering.

Two weeks ago, on our trip to SEPTA, they recommended that our students also should apply to Amtrak. Amtrak was one of the participants on Wednesday. They encouraged our students to apply for entry level and engineering related positions.
