2023 - 2024 Convocation
On Tuesday, we opened up convocation for staff and personnel to officially welcome everyone back as the upcoming school year approaches. During the morning program, we heard words from two student speakers and were treated to a musical selection from a recent graduate. We also had a truly inspiring keynote speaker— Dr. Salome Thomas El, also known as Principal EL. Principal EL, an award-winning principal, teacher, and author who has received international acclaim as a speaker, delivered just the right amount of jokes and personal testimonies to help inspire our educators and support staff. Most importantly, he reminded everyone why we choose to stay and educate our amazing children in CUSD. Our staff finished up convocation with personal development trainings and other discussion-based meetings to get them ready for the first day of school. CUSD is ready for the 2023-24 school year.

CUSD Sustainability Program and visit from the PA Secretary of Agriculture
Underneath fluorescent lights at Chester High School, rows of echinacea, tomatoes and collard greens were sprouting as Pennsylvania Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding bent down to take a closer look. The crops are part of the 3,000-square-foot Think and Grow Ag Lab where 12 high school students received elective credit and performance stipends of up to $1,000 in the past year for their work in the hydroponic gardens.
